# Third-party components and licenses

Vuka is an integration project, not a relicensing of Kali, Wine, Seven or the bundled tools.

- Kali and Debian package copyright/license texts are installed under `/usr/share/doc/<package>/copyright` and recorded in the generated package manifest.
- Seven is installed from the exact independent release wheel pinned in `upstream/SEVEN_RELEASE.env`; Vuka does not vendor or modify Seven's repository.
- OpenCode, Ollama, voice adapters and Winetricks are exact checksum-pinned upstream artifacts. Their source URLs and versions are recorded in `upstream/AI_RUNTIME.env`.
- Wine Mono 9.4.0 and Wine Gecko 2.47.4 are unmodified WineHQ MSI artifacts pinned in `upstream/WINDOWS_RUNTIME.env`. Wine Gecko is Wine's Mozilla-Gecko-based MSHTML compatibility layer; Wine Mono combines multiple open-source components and license notices. Their upstream notices remain inside the unmodified distributions.
- Vuka's generated Seven artwork is tracked in `docs/ARTWORK-PROVENANCE.md`. It must not be confused with third-party Kali artwork.

Release publication must include the source commit, package manifest, these upstream environment files and the ISO checksum. Model weights are not part of the ISO and require their own license review when downloaded.
